In the recent past years, the number of students from India enrolling to overseas universities for MBBS education is on surge. Alongside the rise in number of students, the numbers of overseas educational consultants too are on rise, offering admission facilitation services to many countries. The flip side of such developments is about non-reliable services from the consultants, leading to implications in enrollment and successful course completion from reputed universities.
Over course of exploring the options for admissions, there are few things that a student aspiring to pursue MBBS course from abroad should take a note of. A student decides on studying MBBS abroad because of the Quality of Education that the universities are providing, the environment where they study, the infrastructure that the university have, the highly experienced and qualified teaching staff, the facilities related to study, medium of teaching is English which makes them easy to study as well as understand the course, and many more other things. But along with this what is also and equivalently important is to check if the country and the university they have selected to study is approved by Medical Council of India or not. Since after completing their studies in abroad they have to go through the screening test in India conducted by the Medical council of India.
So here is the way and different factors while choosing or deciding on the country to study MBBS Abroad.
The Medical Council of India has mentioned on their website the list of the universities with respect to the countries which are approved. The following is the link of the Medical Council of India where one can find all the information needed regarding the approved universities of the respective countries.
.
After visiting this website there is a column where you can find Indian and Foreign Qualification. Once you clicked on that column you get on the page mentioned in the link information-desk/for-students-to-study-in-abroad
Where they have mentioned that , “ It has come to the notice of the Medical Council of India (MCI) how some agents are providing fabricated, false and misleading information to Indian students who want to pursue medical studies such as MBBS or its equivalent course abroad. To bring an end to such malicious practice the MCI – Medical Council of India has taken out a list of foreign universities/institutions as approved/recognized by the Indian Embassy/High Commission of India concerned in respective countries for the benefit of Indian nationals planning to travel overseas to study MBBS.
As far as the status of recognition of a particular university/institution is involved, any primary medical qualification which is confirmed by the Indian Embassy concerned to be a recognized qualification for enrollment as a medical practitioner in the country in which the institution awarding such qualification is situated, can be considered to be a recognized medical qualification by the Medical Council of India for the purposes of issuance of Eligibility Certificate and further entitle a candidate to appear in the Screening Test and grant of provisional/permanent registration by the concerned State Medical Council.”
It has been seen that the list of the universities are given country wise, but only if one can notice starting from A to Z China is missing in the list and same is mentioned differently. So here the student needs to understand why it has been like this?
Since all the countries that are mentioned in the list that conduct the Medicine course have medium of teaching in English language only and that’s the reason they are listed together. Whereas when it comes to China since the universities in China conduct the courses in two types of language that is Bi lingual where one is in English and other is in Chinese (local language). This is the reason list of the universities of China are been listed differently.
Now talking about the country to choose to study Mbbs or Medicine and Dentistry Abroad , Ukriane and Russia stands out best to choose.
