Margaritas are great, there’s a very good reason that they’re so popular – it’s a simple and delicious formula that will always be a good choice. But, why not shake things up a little (literally), and swap out your margarita this Cinco de Mayo for an amazing tequila cocktail that is just as easy and delicious, but a little bit different.
The Campanella is a variation on the classic Paloma cocktail – it combines reposado tequila with grapefruit juice, just like the classic, but the addition of the Italian Aperol adds the bold flavours of sweet orange balanced with a gentian bitterness. When you shake this up with some lime juice and a little honey – you are in Paloma cocktail heaven!

The classic Paloma cocktail is a Mexican favourite (Paloma being Spanish for “dove”), and is usually prepared using a grapefruit flavoured soda. However, much like most cocktails, I much prefer the Paloma cocktail prepared with fresh fruit juice and with just a splash of soda water to add the sparkle. The Campanella Paloma Cocktail Variation is no different!
